Urban Public Space
1.Street Public Space Landscape Design and coordination of principles of harmony.
A street’s public space should be modelled according to its being inhabitted by human life, and people’s reaction to this, based on their reaction to the natural environment. The street is a public space where people interact, exchange materials and ideas. Public spaces or landscapes not only facilitate or hinder these activities themselves, they also influence the spirit in which these activities take place through the symbolic introduction of cultural histories stories or other more creators of meaning. For example signs announcing video surveillance make a population less relaxed but less prone to crime. Benches encourage seating while long tables encourage interacting. People-oriented planning and design principles should aim to satisfy the populations particular needs while furthering the purpose for a particular public space.
